Description

The Patented SLYSTEEL Shark Tooth Hunter knife designed by Oliver Hannan is a general purpose camp knife that can also be used as an emergency rescue and self-defense tool. Like the Shark Tooth Tactical, it features the Split Finger Guard that provides both protection and retention.

Spear Point Blade Design

The spear point design of the Shark Tooth Hunter is similar in shape to a Clovis projectile point with nearly symmetrical, convex-shaped blade edge and spine. The lowered point is easily controlled because the grip scales extend to the choil of the split finger grip. The relative position of the tip to the handle make the design useful for fine work and the somewhat deep belly makes it useful for slicing, chopping, or skinning, and other tasks in the camp kitchen. This design also gives the Shark Tooth Hunter a strong point that is sharp enough for piercing. It comes in single or dual-edge; the piercing capability is naturally improved when both edges are sharpened. The dual-edge model offers a secondary edge useful should the primary edge become dull during extended trips without sharpening capability.

The unique look of the Shark Tooth Hunter knife is created by combining the spear point blade design with the characteristic Patented Shark Tooth handle design, which integrates a hand guard with a traditional finger guard and choil. High Carbon Steel

High carbon 1095 steel is well known for its edge retention, toughness, and ease of sharpening. These three factors are what make 1095 a great steel for the Shark Tooth Hunter. The knife is also differentially heat treated to provide exceptional edge retention while maintaining blade flexibility. The Shark Tooth Hunter has a protective coating, allowing it to be properly cared for with little maintenance. Keeping any exposed steel dry and oiled will ensure a lifetime of use.

Protective Coating

The Shark Tooth Hunter is epoxy powder coated in black or tan over a tumble finish to eliminate reflective surfaces, resist wear, and inhibit corrosion.

Pommel Tool and Lanyard Hole

The pommel of the Shark Tooth Hunter has a blunt tip that can be used as a chisel or pry tool and is an effective glass breaker. The included lanyard hole allows a user to relinquish their grip without losing the knife.
