SLYSTEEL LAUNCHES KICKSTARTER FOR MULTI-PURPOSE SURVIVAL KUKRI
Innovative design geared toward modern survivalists, hunter-gatherers and bushcrafters
Idaho Falls, Idaho, August 16, 2020 American knife designer SLYSTEEL is thrilled to enter the Kickstarter phase of its latest innovation. The SLYSTEEL Survival Kukri is poised to become a crowd favorite once production gets rolling.
When the Kickstarter hits its goal, contributors can take advantage of a steeply discounted price over the initial retail price point of $299. Knife and blade lovers who contribute will be among the first to get their hands on the exciting new design.
The Survival Kurki is SLYSTEEL’s most versatile design to date. Designed in the USA for the modern survivalist, the kukri is as capable of splitting and chopping as it is handling fine-motor tasks like feather sticking.
On top of all that, elements of classic kukri design manage to transform a highly capable do-it-all survival knife into a display-worthy work of art.
Critical Response
Critical response to the Survival Kukri prototype has been overwhelmingly positive. Reviewers have raved about the knife’s innovative design elements, impressive workmanship and its performance as a trailside workhorse.
One reviewer described SLYSTEEL founder Oliver Hannan as the “Tony Stark of knife designers.” It’s easy to see why. Hannan has thought of every possibility with the Survival Kukri design. As another reviewer noted, a skilled outdoorsman would be ready for virtually anything that happens in the wild, as long as they had the Survival Kukri at-hand.
The Legendary History of the Kukri Knife
The multi-use nature of SLYSTEEL’s Survival Kukri is a modern interpretation of the storied Nepalese tool by the same name. Himalayan Ghurka soldiers introduced the iconic recurve blade design hundreds of years ago.
Today, kukris serve many purposes in Nepalese and Indian households. Families and soldiers alike use kukris to build, clear, chop firewood, dig, slaughtering and butchering, skinning and even as a can opener.
